God is calling us by our future, not our past. When God speaks, He creates. When He bestows His favor upon us, He causes us to thrive. I heard God lead me to read Zachariah 10:1, “Ask the Lord for rain in the springtime. It is the Lord who sends rain clouds and showers, making the fields green for everyone.”

In God’s Word, Spring rain symbolizes God’s desire to bless, refresh and flourish His people. Proverbs 16:15 says “God’s favor is like a cloud bringing the spring rain.” As the new year approached, I happily began carrying out God’s freshly anointed words to me and asking Him for His unmerited favor in the form of Spring rain over our lives. The next day it started to rain, all day like it was Springtime and not the 27th of December in Ohio.  New Years Eve day poured down rain and didn’t stop till we crossed over into 2019.

As I began my morning on January 1, 2019, I read, “Be glad then, you children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he has given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.” Promise released, agreed and received. Who knew God makes His own New Year’s resolutions and fulfills them just as swiftly!

With God’s blessing and boldness, I pray, may the heavens continually open up and pour out such blessings of God’s goodness upon us, till we overflow and thrive together, according to His outrageous love for us, in 2019. May it be filled with the greater things yet to come and be our best year yet! Just say yes and amen, if you want it!
